Biography

Frank G Artinian II, M.D. is a board certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Artinian completed his medical education at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and pediatric residency training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. After this, Dr. Artinian was employed in the Beaumont system as a hospitalist and was involved in the education of pediatric residents in training. In 2005, he joined Mali & Mali Pediatrics P.C. There he practiced general pediatrics and was extensively involved in the management of extreme preterm infants after discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit.

In 2007, Dr. Artinian was recruited to Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa. There he spent years caring for pediatric patients in this rural community. Along with managing a busy pediatric practice, Dr. Artinian attended the delivery of newborn infants, managed a level 1 nursery, consulted in the emergency department and cared for hospitalized patients. In this setting, Dr. Artinian served as a member of the hospital Medical Executive Committee, as the Chief of Maternal-Child Medicine and functioned as the Medical Director for the multispecialty clinic. While in Iowa, Dr. Artinian continued involvement in medical education as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Iowa and Des Moines University. During this time, he was involved in published, office-based research through William Beaumont Hospital. Aside from spending a short time in Holland, Michigan working for Spectrum Health System – Dr. Artinian practiced in Fort Madison Iowa from 2007 through 2014.

Since arriving at Akron Children’s Hospital in January of 2015, Dr. Artinian has provided pediatric care in both the office setting and in the hospital. In the summer of 2016, he transitioned into a hospitalist role. In this position, Dr. Artinian provides hospitalist coverage on the ACH pediatric unit at Aultman Hospital and in both Labor & Delivery and Level II Nursery at Wooster Community Hospital. In addition, Dr. Artinian is on the medical staff for the Skeletal Dysplasia Clinic and functions as the Medical Director of the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Clinic at Akron Children’s Hospital.
